VIRTUAL RETREAT ON

My soul in silence wait
These aren’t easy or comforting times that we live in. We could easily descend into despair but know that’s not helpful. As Christians, we have two key ‘weapons’ to help us avoid despair or unhelpful responses—prayer and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
We can sharpen our ‘weapons’ and prepare for whatever God calls us to by taking time out to wait in silence for God alone. As Lent begins, take time out in a virtual retreat, being prayerfully present to God and open the hearing God speak through God’s Word. Join the psalmist (Ps 62) who said, “For God alone, my soul in silence waits.”
Retreat Purpose: To provide space where you can retreat from your world and your anxieties in order to be fully present to God alone.
When: Saturday, February 21; 9:30 a.m.-12:00 CST (15:30-18:00 GMT & 17:30-20:00 RSA).
Where: Since the retreat is virtual, the where is any space free of distractions that has access to internet for Zoom gatherings for the duration of the retreat.
Format: A rhythm of silence and speaking; solitude and community. The speaking and community are virtual via Zoom. Silence and solitude happen in the opportunity the retreat offers to be alone.
Cost: If you are able, a donation of $25 would be appreciated. I will send information on how to pay once you’ve signed up.
