I have been engaged in serious practice and study of Christian spirituality for over 30 years, first in my native country, South Africa and now in the United States. I earned a doctorate in practical theology (focused on Christian spirituality and spiritual formation) from the University of Durban-Westville, South Africa and taught in colleges in both South Africa and the United States until my retirement in 2017. I am an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Reformed Church in America and a certified and experienced spiritual director. I enjoy reading, writing, and am passionate about promoting Bible reading so that others experience their own encounters with the God of Scripture. I love to bike, birdwatch and simply stare and wonder at the grandeur of God in creation.
